Baby Dedication

We took Haidyn to Bartlesville for a Baby Dedication service at my dad’s church over Labor Day weekend.  It was extra special for us because Rod MacIlvaine was one of the pastors who performed our wedding, and he was the one who did Haidyn’s dedication.  We were overwhelmed by the love and support of our families that day.  Jonathan’s parents, my dad and sister, Uncle Bruce, cousin Amanda, aunts Mary and Carole, and our good friends Roger and Michelle Fite, Elizabeth Hindman and Megan Proctor all attended the service.  Afterwards we all headed over to my dad’s new house (which is beautiful, by the way!) for a yummy lunch.  We were so glad everyone could be there and loved seeing them.  It meant the world to us that they all made the trip to be a part of this special day.  My mom bought this Christening gown a few months before she passed away.  It was absolutely beautiful.  I’m sure she was watching from Heaven that day!

Since it was a holiday weekend, we decided to make a mini vacation out of it.  We drove to Tulsa on Thursday and spent two nights with Papa and Savta.  On Friday Jonathan, Haidyn and I went to breakfast on Brookside and visited Papa and Savta at the University of Tulsa.  That night we went to dinner downtown with some of their friends and got Gelato.  It was a beautiful day and so fun to be together.

On Saturday my wonderful friends had a brunch for Haidyn.  Megan hosted it at her house, and Hollye, Jill and Britney all helped.  The food was delicious, and it was so fun to see all the babies together.  The girls were so sweet to have a party for  Haidyn and to give her a beautiful shell necklace to symbolize her dedication.  She was showered with all kinds of love!  Unfortunately I left my camera in the car and was too busy playing with the babies to think about pictures.  Megan has some great pictures, though, so hopefully I will get those posted at some point.

On Saturday night we hung out at my dad’s house with Uncle Bruce, Amanda, Aunt Carole, Aunt SES and Grandpa to watch the OU vs. Tulsa football game.  We were a house divided…and Haidyn was a baby divided.
